I am so proud of Ubisoft and that is coming from the heart. The studio is doing so well and if you look at the Ubisoft of 2014 when Watch Dogs released and the Ubisoft of 2018 you will see a major difference in the studio's performance and understanding of their pipeline.

One of their games, Assassin's Creed: Origins was the greatest game of 2017 and it is getting better and better as the months go by. First I reviewed the main game and it was a spectacular comeback then the first expansion pack was a great chunk of content too. While both of those were paid game content the next batch releasing this week is free for all and it could be some of the best free content Ubisoft has ever released.

This week update 1.3 will include the highly anticipated combat-free Discovery Tour as well as a New Game+ mode that will let players experience the wonderful story of Bayek all over again in a more challenging manner.

Discovery Tour

According to Ubisoft, the mode will include 75 carefully constructed tours which will last between 2 and 25 minutes each. You will be able to see the lands of Egypt like never before. The tours will be about the architecture, the people and the ways of life back in the day.

“This new educational mode of the game lets everyone, from players to history-enthusiasts and non-gamers, choose between free roaming the beautiful world of Ancient Egypt to learn more about its history and daily life, or embarking on guided tours curated by historians and Egyptologists. People can discover and explore a world free of conflict, time pressure or gameplay constraints, where storyline and quests are not active and the world of Ancient Egypt evolves into a combat-free living museum.”

New Game +

In addition to the Discovery Tour in patch 1.3, Ubisoft will also be adding a New Game+ mode to the game. Players will be able to carry over most of their character progression including equipment, abilities, crafting status, XP, player level and some inventory items too. Story progress and missions will be reset and enemies will get harder as the base level of difficulty will increase. Ubisoft states that there will be a unique reward for players who play through the New Game+ mode but what that item is, has not been revealed yet.

Update 1.3 is out today on PS4, Xbox One, and PC and comes in at 5.5 GB on consoles and 2.6GB on PC. You can read the full patch notes here and all the details of the upcoming New Game+ mode here.
