The Red Solstice is a top-down, tactical, squad-based action game, developed by Ironward and you should play it. Last month, it was free on the Humble Store for a limited time, but there might be many gamers who didn’t see the free offer or grab it in time.

Now, it is free on Steam and you have until 9 February at 21:00 South African time to claim it. If you claim it in time, it will be yours to keep forever and play the 30-hour campaign at your leisure. There are no strings attached here, simply head to the game’s Steam page and add it to your library, then download it and you are good to go.

As you might have guessed, the game plays off on Mars and you try to keep your squad alive, fighting alien creatures in either single-player or multiplayer. The developers also call the game a spiritual successor to Night of the Dead games, which should make a lot of people want to play the game even more.
