Final Fantasy XV supports PC and Xbox One co-op cross-play

According to the Microsoft Store product page for Final Fantasy XV Windows, there will be co-operative cross-play between Xbox One and PC. However, when you look at the Steam and Origin pages for the game there is no mention of the feature. The logical assumption is that co-op will only be possible between Xbox One and PC if you've purchased the game from the Microsoft Store.

Final Fantasy XV - Microsoft Store

Under the section "Capabilities" the following summary:

  • Xbox Live online co-op (2-4)
  • Single-player
  • Xbox Live cross-platform co-op
  • Xbox Live achievements
  • Xbox Live presence
  • Xbox Live cloud saves

Final Fantasy XV - Steam & Origin

  • The Steam page for Final Fantasy XV lists the following:
  • Game description
  • Key features (states that all the content from the Season Pass is included)
  • New features (things like first-person mode and achievements)
  • DLC & bonus items
  • System requirements

All three distributors sell the game for R669, with the only important difference being the co-op cross-play, which is a big deal for many gamers. Final Fantasy XV is a single-player game, except for the multiplayer expansion, "Comrades." In this DLC, we meet an older Noctis who teams up with Kingsglaive soldiers. and together they attempt to destroy Ardyn and end the Starscourge.

See the article below for a detailed breakdown of what each distribution platform offers with their version of Final Fantasy XV.

If you want to play that one DLC with friends, then make sure to purchase the Final Fantasy XV version on the Microsoft Store. The adventure begins March 6 worldwide.
