notmycar is like PUBG, but with cars - Buckle Up, Buttercup

Not My Car.jpg

If the name sounds oddly familiar, you might be thinking about the children’s book called “That’s not my car”, but notmycar is definitely nothing like that. Instead, it is a vehicular Battle Royale game developed by NMC Studios, basically, PUBG with cars. notmycar asks you to “Buckle Up, Buttercup”, because it looks like one sick ride. Even though it is basically PUBG with cars, I, for one, am extremely excited about the game already.

If you feel the same way, you should sign up for the pre-alpha right now on the game’s official website, right at the bottom. Now that you are obviously signed up and have started refreshing your email every 5 seconds, let’s take a look at the information revealed about the game so far.

"notmycar is a white-knuckle, lead-footed massively multiplayer vehicular combat battle royale game. Drop into a massive battleground and use cool weapons and abilities to battle your way through single-elimination combat and become the ultimate survivor. Outlast the competition through cunning, skill, and a little bit of strategy. Customize your ride to make it a beast of a vehicle to take on anyone, anytime."

  • Drop: "Parachute into every match and choose your starting location on a massive battleground that gets smaller and smaller as the battle wages on. Land in an open field or on the roof of a warehouse – the choice is yours, and that choice will determine your vehicular supremacy!"
  • Drive: "Customize your battle wagon so your good-for-nothing enemies know exactly who bombed them into oblivion as you skid through their fiery remains. Flags, bumpers, paint-jobs, and more, it’s all up for styling as you earn points for every battle you play in."
  • Destroy: "It’s pedal-to-the-metal as you race to snatch the best weapons from caches all over the island. Battle Royale means second place is the first loser, so show no mercy for anyone on four wheels. Fight your way to the top of the junk heap to be the last car standing!" - Source

Notmycar screenshots

As you can see, it sounds almost exactly like PUBG, but with cars, and the screenshots released by the developer does clearly show the game is basically a vehicular Battle Royale title, the first of it’s kind.

The screenshots look fantastic and I, for one, hope the gameplay feels as good as it looks, because who doesn’t want to drive around and blow up other cars all while trying to be the last man standing? If you need any more convincing, you can check out the first gameplay footage from Dan “Greenskull” Hamill on Mixer.

At the time of writing, there is no release date specified for notmycar, but the pre-alpha testing is said to begin in roughly one week's time and at the moment, there can be a maximum of 32 players in a match.
