PUBG reaches a massive milestone and new changes teased

By now, everyone knows that PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG) is one of, if not the greatest Early Access success stories. The game has had some troubles lately, with the long-awaited new climbing and vaulting features being delayed as well as issues with the test servers. However, that didn’t stop PUBG for reaching a massive sales milestone.

PUBG has reached 20 million copies sold. The news comes just one day after Fortnite reached 20 million players, but remember that Fornite’s Battle Royale mode is free-to-play and available on all platforms.

PlayerUnknown himself, Brendan Greene, took to Twitter to not only announce this massive milestone but to reassure fans that the team is working hard on the issues and that change is coming. Mr Greene states that:

“PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds reached an amazing milestone this weekend, passing 20 million copies sold! I know a lot of you are frustrated by issues w/ the game but the team is working hard to deliver a truly great Battle Royale expierence for everyone. Bear with us, change is coming!” - Source

What this type of change could entail isn’t clear, but just fixing some of the most pressing issues with the game and pushing towards that full release should set many player’s minds at ease. Maybe Mr Greene is also talking about their anti-cheat measures, as the developer apologized for the cheater problem over the weekend and vowed to adopt better anti-cheat measures.

Whatever the case may be, one thing is clear. PUBG continues to grow at a rapid pace as 20 million copies sold is a mind-blowing feat for a game only available on PC at present and still in Early Access.

What do you think about PUBG hitting the 20 million copies sold mark and what change do you want to see in the game? Let us know in the comment section below.
