Yesterday, NVIDIA officially revealed the long-rumoured GTX 1070 Ti to the world, and it is without a doubt a beast of a card, making use of the powerful Pascal architecture. The GPUs specs are very close to that of a GTX 1080 with only one SMM cluster of 128 cores disabled, so it is almost a full GP104 chip under the hood and has the same base clock speed as the GTX 1080, with a slightly lower boost clock speed and 8GB of VRAM.

You can read about all the specs on the card’s official page over at NVIDIA, but what’s most important to all of us is how much it will cost in South Africa and where we can buy one, or even two of these beasts. Some local stores have revealed their pricing for the GTX 1070 Ti, including Wootware, Evetech and Rebeltech. Below, you can check out the local pricing for the new monster from NVIDIA. As far as release date goes, it looks like the GTX 1070 Ti should be available in mid-November.

  • + more

  • ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 Ti TURBO – R8,499
  • MSI GeForce GTX 1070 TI ARMOR 8G – R8,599
  • ASUS GeForce GTX 1070 Ti ROG Strix – R8,899
  • MSI GeForce GTX 1070 Ti DUKE – R8,999
  • + More

The GTX 1070 Ti also has a lot of overclocking potential. NVIDIA explains:

"We designed the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti to be an overclocking monster with plenty of headroom for gamers to crank up the clock speeds. And our partners have built cards with thermals and power supplies that allow gamers to push performance way past stock specifications.

With that in mind, you can see from the list of GTX 1070 Ti’s above that some of them are already overclocked and it will be interesting to see which one of these deliver the top performance and which of them can be further overclocked.

What do you think about the price of the Geforce GTX 1070 Ti in South Africa and do you plan on picking one up? Let us know in the comment section below.
