All Xbox users can play online for free this weekend

If you own an Xbox One or Xbox 360 and you're not an Xbox Live subscriber, then you should jump at the opportunity to experience the service for free this weekend. As it happens, the Star Wars Battlefront II multiplayer open beta is also running this weekend, so I suggest you cancel your weekend plans (except if you're at rAge), and enter a galaxy far, far away...

Xbox Free Play Days For All Weekend

  • Start time: Open
  • Closing time: Monday, October 9 at 11:59 p.m. PDT
  • Platforms: Xbox One & Xbox 360 owners
  • Games: Any mutiplayer game you own
  • Star Wars Battlefront II beta: 13.2GB

"Plus everyone who plays the beta [Battlefront II] will receive a specially curated Founder’s Crate filled with goodies as a thank you from the developers, including credits, an exclusive emote for Darth Maul, and a rare trooper Star Card to give them a head start in battle," announced on Xbox Wire.

It will cost you R159 per month if you want to become an Xbox Live Gold subscriber. You'll get access to multiplayer, monthly free games, as well as great discounts.

In other Xbox news, we finally have the Xbox One X South African release window and pricing. If you're in Gauteng this weekend, then you can get some hands on time with the beast at rAge.
