During The International 2017, Valve unveiled that two new heroes will be making their way into Dota 2 with the Dueling Fates update. Now, we have a timeframe for when the update will release, as Valve has revealed on a recent blog post that it should be done in the next month or so, stating that: “We are still hard at work on it and don’t have an exact release date, but we are expecting it to take about another month to finish the content.

That’s something huge for Dota 2 players and coupled with the schedule for the 2017/2018 competitive season, there is definitely a lot to look forward to. However, Valve is planning even more awesome things for fans of their massive MOBA title. The Frostivus event is coming back this year since winter is coming to the US where Valve is located.

Specific details about the event are yet to be revealed, but Valve did announce a Frostivus Custom Game Contest, which you can read about below:

To help celebrate Frostivus this year, we are happy to announce a new custom game contest. Each entry must be a new multiplayer custom game heavily themed around the Frostivus season, and may be either cooperative or competitive amongst the players. To enter, you must submit the final copy of the custom game by November 20th. We are excited to see all of the Frostivus game submissions for this contest.

The winning entry will be selected by Valve and will receive a prize of $30,000. While the deadline for submitting the final copy is November 20th, we suggest that you involve the community during your development process earlier and have them play the game to give you feedback. Make sure to tag your game with “Frostivus 2017″ so fans can find your game on the workshop.” - Source

There is no mention of the contest being region specific on the Contest Rules page, so South Africans will probably be able to enter for their shot at $30,000 which is nearly R400,000 at the current Dollar to Rand exchange rate.

Lastly, Valve is also putting the finishing touches on the next True Sight episode, which is scheduled to release next week Tuesday. Check out the teaser for the next True Sight episode below and then tell us what you are most excited about for Dota 2 in the months ahead.
