Raikou, Entei, and Suicune (originally from the Johto region) are the latest Legendary additions to Pokémon GO. Trainers will be able to catch them in Gym Raids across the world for a limited a time. Niantic also announced that the EX Raid Battle feature will enter its testing phase soon in selected regions before releasing worldwide.

The three Legendaries will not all release in every region at once as Niantic selected specific countries for each Pokémon on a rotation basis.

Enters Raikou, Entei, and Suicune

  • Released for up to one month per region.
  • Arrival date: Released
  • End date: 30 September 2017
  • Raikou, an Electric-type Legendary Pokémon, can be battled throughout the Americas.
  • Entei, a Fire-type Legendary Pokémon, can be battled throughout Europe and Africa.
  • Suicune, a Water-type Legendary Pokémon, can be battled throughout the Asia-Pacific region.
  • Second rotation date: 30 September 2017
  • Third rotation date: 30 October 2017

Niantic also announced that they first want to fine tune the EX Raid Battle in selected regions. "Similar to existing Raid Battles, EX Raid Battles will periodically appear at Gyms around the world. Trainers who have successfully completed a Raid Battle at the Gym where the EX Raid Battle is taking place will be invited to battle a powerful Raid Boss," announces Niantic. "Beginning soon, Trainers in select areas will begin to receive an EX Raid Pass for an opportunity to experience the new feature and provide feedback."
