What the latest Pokémon GO update brings to the augmented-reality wilds

Pokemon GO latest update changes.jpg

Pokémon GO is being updated to version 0.73.1 for Android and 1.43.1 for iOS devices. The update doesn’t bring any big additions to the game, such as Gen 3 Pokémon that many players have been waiting for, but it does have some great quality of life additions and bug fixes for trainers across the globe.

My personal favourite change in this update is one to the game’s Raid Battle system, which allows you to see how many players in a specific raid or alternatively, how many are preparing for a Raid before you use your Raid Pass.

Developer Niantic Labs have detailed everything in the latest update, which you can read about below:

  • "Added the ability for Trainers to spin the Photo Disc at a Gym using the Pokémon GO Plus accessory.
  • Added the ability to view the number of Trainers entered, and preparing, for a Raid Battle before using a Raid Pass.
  • Improved Pokémon Collection screen search functionality by allowing Trainers to search through their Pokémon’s moves using the @ character.
  • Resolved a bug which caused the Raid Boss to always break free from the last Premier Ball.
  • Resolved a bug that prevented Trainers from seeing they’d received double XP from Raid Battles when using a Lucky Egg.
  • Various bug fixes." - Source

It is great to see Niantic not only focusing on new additions but fixing annoying bugs and adding quality of life features to their mobile sensation. However, one of the most exciting things about the latest update is the prospect of finding more clues about possible upcoming features via a datamine, which I hope will be revealed in the next few days like the Gen 3 Pokémon were.

What do you think about the latest Pokémon GO update and what do you want to see added to the game next? Let us know in the comment section below.
