Energy Esports opens new headquarters at The Nexus in Johannesburg

It is no mystery that we MWEB have always supported the awesome Energy Esports team in SA, but yesterday a very special event was hosted to celebrate the new uniform as well as announce that MWEB, LG, Gigabyte, and the Nexus would now be sponsoring the team in more ways than one. The best news of all is the partnership with the Nexus by making the gaming lifestyle centre Energy's new home.

Energy Esports will now be based at the Nexus in Randburg Johannesburg and will utilise the area for training, matches, and of course a place to socialise with the fans and fellow Esports players alike. MWEB hosts a 1GB fibre line to the venue so the team will have more than enough internet to play on, and with all the equipment sponsored by Gigabyte, and LG Electronics, they will be kitted out in the best of the best gaming hardware.

Energy also announced a brand new kit with all the sponsor's logos on it including ours, Gigabyte, and LG. It is a pretty cool new shirt that moved the team into a new direction with brand new support from different areas in the gaming scene. We are once again extremely proud of the team and cannot wait to get more involved with their movements in the Esports scene in the coming months.

The Nexus also opened two brand new rooms in the venue, one of them a Gigabyte specific room, and the other a dedicated PlayStation room kitted out with PS4s, PS VR, and some awesome God of War wallpaper. As for the Gigabyte room, it houses the latest hardware and tech from the company as well as the brand new and pretty sleek Gigabyte Aero 15, and Sabre 15 gaming notebooks.

Gigabyte's new gaming notebook range is one of the best I have ever seen with an all-day battery life, bright neon casing, and of course a GTX 1060 6GB, 7th-Gen Core i7 CPU, and various SSD options. It is also one of the sleekest gaming notebooks I have ever played with and feels light and compact at the same time.

Both the PlayStation experience room and the Gigabyte room will be available right up until the end of the year so if you want to get your hands on the products then head over to the Nexus and make sure to try them out.

We are all extremely pleased to be at Energy's side throughout their journey and wish the team all the luck going forward.
