June 2017 videogame releases.jpg

June is the first quiet new game releases month in a long time for me. You might disagree, and finally get to play that game you've been waiting for, while others delve into their backlog. Also, how many of June's releases can you spot in the cover image?

Tekken 7

Genre: Fighting

Mode: Single-player & multiplayer

Age restriction: T for Teen 10+

Rated for: Crude Humor, Mild Blood, Mild Language, Suggestive Themes, Violence. Online not rated

Game info: There’s not much to say about Tekken 7. You’re either a fan or not, and if a fan then you know what the franchise is about. We’ve been playing Tekken for decades from old school arcade machines to the latest Tekken which will release on current-gen consoles. “TEKKEN 7 promises to deliver an uncompromising fighting game experience that will deliver groundbreaking graphics, animation, and tournament style gameplay. Fighting game tournament players should be on notice as we’re setting our sights on lighting up the tournament scene with the hardest hitting TEKKEN game ever,” said Eric Hartness, Vice President of Marketing at BANDAI NAMCO Entertainment America Inc. The story will be darker than previous installments and also brings the story of the Mishima clan to a :fateful conclusion.”

Nex Machina

Release date: 20/06 WW

Platforms: PS4 & PC

Genre: Shoot 'em up

Game info: Nex Machina looks epic, and the game seems to follow in the footsteps of the likes Resogun with its insane amount of particle effects flying all over your screen, and let us not forget the infamous twin-stick shooting action. According to the official site, the game follows the world where "humans have become so dependent on technology that they cannot avert their eyes from portable devices anymore. Around them, machines have reached consciousness and surpassed human intelligence tenfolds. No reasons to be servants now – robots are clearly the superior lifeform. And to make their point, they start eradicating all human life".
