PlayStation Store Highlights - Injustice 2 is out and new games discounted

PlayStation Store.jpg

It is a big week for gaming and given that Injustice 2 is out, alongside The Surge, which I loved to bits, as well as Farpoint, there is so much to choose from that you might feel a bit lost. The PlayStation Store weekly addition will keep you busy for hours on end, and as someone who has personally played all three of the week's biggest games, I recommend all three without hesitation.

PlayStation Store Highlights

There is no doubt some major hype surrounding the new Injustice 2, and I am not surprised why. The game is the sequel to the 2013 God Among Us release, but bigger, prettier and all-around better than ever. No really, playing this on the PS4 Pro with HDR is one of the best experiences I have ever had in gaming, and my review will expand on this, but the game's epic story mode, endless loot system that sees you collect gear for all the fighters, and let us not forgot smooth and stable online feature, makes it something rare. If you are in the mood for some stellar action with a great superhero showing, then Injustice 2 is the game for you this week. The game is up for order now and will unlock at midnight on 18 May.

On that topic, Farpoint is also out and I have to just say that so far the game is probably one of the best VR titles I have played. It is a true FPS game that does not let the VR feature weigh it down in any way. It is not gimmicky at all, and the combat paired with the PlayStation VR Aim controller is the most immersive VR experience to date.

Last this week we have The Surge, which if you missed my review is a Souls-inspired game set in a post-apocalyptic world. You take on the role of Warren, a technician who gets sent into the CREO compound to investigate the situation after a deadly accident. After Warren arrives he realises that some strange power has taken control of the robots and humans in mech suits, everything basically wants him dead now. The guys behind the awesome Lords of the Fallen worked on this game, so the combat is precise, but at the same time relentless. This hardcore action RPG is not to be missed.

Now onto the touchy subject. What will you pay for all these games this week if you were looking to pick them up? Take a look at the local pricing for each below.

  • Injustice 2 Standard Edition - R1069
  • Injustice 2 Ultimate Edition - R1629
  • Farpoint - R799
  • The Surge - R849

PlayStation Store Sales

It is not a PlayStation Store update without the sales, and this week we can expect to find....well basically the same things as last week. Yes, the Resident Evil sale is still on, but there is also a great new Deal of the Week that sees Mad Max on sale for R205. It is also the last week of the May Savings sale that has countless great deals on offer like DOOM, NieR: Automata, and more. On that point, there are new games added to the May Savings sale like Earthlock (R329), Alien: Isolation (R189) and more. Hopefully next week I can bring some new deals your way because if you ask me, these are kind of old now and irritating me. Take a look at all the best sales this week:
