PlayStation Store Highlights - Something for Every PlayStation Owner

PS Store Highlights.jpg

A lot is happening on the PlayStation Store this week (15-21 February), and there's something for every PlayStation owner. The big February Sale is joined by the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Sale and the Deal of the Week changes to NBA 2K17 with up to 57% discount on various editions.

PlayStation Store Highlights

The biggest highlight of this week has to be the launch of For Honor, but if you don't feel the call to pledge your sword, then you can set your scopes on Sniper Elite 4. According to PlayStation Access, it's "without a doubt" the best Sniper Elite game from Rebellion. "The game includes all the cunning, sandbox sneaking from earlier editions, but with improved close-quarters combat..." If you feel the need for some brain teasers, then take a look at two puzzle games available this week; Semispheres (currently on 10% discount) and Flywrench. Petrolheads can get into the cockpit on Friday when DiRT Rally releases for the PlayStation VR. Proton Pulse + is another VR title available for PS4 this week.

  • For Honor Gold Edition: R1349 / €80
  • For Honor Deluxe Edition: R999 / €55
  • For Honor Season Pass: R629 / €33
  • Sniper Elite 4: R1069 / €50
  • Sniper Elite 4 Digital Deluxe Edition: R1479 / €75
  • Sniper Elite 4 Season Pass: R549 / €29

Let's take a moment to talk about For Honor. As you probably know, we loved the beta and tested it on PC and PlayStation 4. South African gamers and those with a higher latency than the norm will be happy to know that we've had very few issues when we tested the beta. We're currently busy with the full review so expect more on this topic by early next week.

One of the things that we are very excited about is For Honor's deep customization options and its progression system. Don't make the mistake to think For Honor is the usual Hack 'n Slash game; it is far more than that, so tune in next week for lots more. Last but not least, remember to enter our For Honor giveaway where you can win a copy of the game on PS4 or Xbox One plus some cool merchandise.

PlayStation Store - Top 10 Games on Sale

Last week, we covered our top 10 games on the February sale, so for this week we'll take a look at what else PlayStation owners can grab on discount during February.

Final Fantasy XV is a must play for every PlayStation 4 owner, and during the Anniversary sale you can grab the standard edition (R699 / €33) as well as the digital premium edition (R1069 / €53) at 34% discount. The game is not without flaws - yet it's an imperfect beauty and well worth your money. PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita owners can enjoy the magical World of Final Fantasy at almost 40% discount (PS4 R569 / €30 & PSVita R379 / €18). There are several FF games on sale for PlayStation 3 owners, but we chose Lightning Returns Final Fantasy XIII at 50% discount (R199 / €10). It's not the best Final Fantasy game we've played, but at that price it's a steal.

Up next we take a look at the Digital Discounts, and there are plenty on sale for all PlayStation Platforms.

Our first three picks all featured in PS Plus free games download, so if you missed it, then you can grab it now at massive discounted prices. Our first pick is Grim Fandango Remastered - it's Grim Fandango, nothing else needs to be said except that you can grab it at 54% discount (PS4 & PSVita R109 / €6). Our second choice is Grow Home that you can grab at 62% discount (PS4 R49 / €2), and the last one has to go to the amazing Gone Home at 65% discount (R109 / €6). Gone Home will linger in your heart long after your journey ended - play it.

We always favour PS4 owners, so our last four picks today are all games on sale for PS3 and PSVita.

  • Spec Ops The Line PS3 at 72% discount (R89 / €4)
  • Lego Batman 3 Beyond Gotham PSVita at 48% discount (R169 / €7)
  • Bound by Flame PS3 at 66% discount (R109 / €6)
  • Lego The Hobbit PSVita at 48% or 53% discount (R169 / €7)

Happy PlayStation week - what will you be playing?
