The new Horizon Zero Dawn trailer will make you a fan

Guerrilla Games released a new cinematic trailer for the upcoming PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro exclusive, Horizon Zero Dawn, and it will make you a fan. The trailer gives us insight into Aloy's backstory, shows the villain, and lots more. If the final game is as good as what we've seen so far, then Horizon Zero Dawn is your reason to buy a PlayStation 4.

From previous teasers, we know that Aloy is an outcast, even within her tribe. Exploration is a big part of the game, and the world is divided into eco-types. The mechanical creatures are the dominant species, and there is a connection between them and Aloy. Horizon Zero Dawn is a role-playing game, that plays like an action game, in an open-world environment.

What we learnt from Horizon Zero Dawn Cinematic Trailer

  • Aloy's tribe is massacred, and this sets in motion a series of events that ultimately sees her leaving her native land in search of answers.
  • She is at odds with what seems to be the spiritual oversight of her people, and she leaves their "sacred lands" to find the "masked" people responsible for killing her tribe.
  • We see more of the eco-types and the massive open world; from forests to snow-capped mountains, looming city spires, a breathtaking world.
  • We meet the people outside Aloy's tribe and lands: These live in large cities and are more civilized than the cave people of her homeland.
  • It looks like Horizon plays off on one enormous continent with different nations occupying specific sections.
  • There seem to be two warring factions of the mechanical creatures; some co-exist with Aloy, while others are unleashed to destroy.
  • The alien mechanical creatures seems to have been conjured or awakened by the antagonist,
  • Aloy has a unique ability that allows her to rehabilitate the mechanical creatures who are under control of the antagonist
  • Horizon has a few key characters, although the central story revolves around Aloy. Lance Reddick (Fringe, Quantum Break) is one such "interested party." She also has an ally with her from one of the civilized nations, as well as some warriors from her homeland.
  • The warriors suggest that Aloy went back to her homeland and gained support after she at first left.
  • It looks like Aloy gathers allies in her quest to confront the "masked" tribe and prevent the destruction of the world.
  • Boss battles look like a possibility as we see the start of a confrontation with a monstrous mechanical creature.

Horizon Zero Dawn is a PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 4 Pro exclusive and releases on 28 February 2017 in the US, 1 March 2017 in Europe and 3 March 2017 in the UK.
