Some glitches in games can cause frustration for players or even make a title unplayable. However, that’s not the case with a new Pokémon GO glitch. Instead, players seem to be having fun with a new glitch that is resulting in some gigantic Pokémon, as you can see from the image above.
First reported by Reddit user PunchingYourSalad and a_azimm on Twitter, the glitch appears exclusively with your Buddy Pokémon. If you click on your profile while you have a Buddy active, the Pokémon you have selected will be scaled to an enormous size for a second.
The size of creatures in Pokémon GO isn’t exactly according to the lore, as some of them might take up an entire screen if they were. This glitch, at least for some Pokémon like Snorlax, does give players an idea of the true size of some of the creatures and results in some funny images to boot, for example a giant Magicarp flopping around on a road.
It’s a fun “little” glitch players are experimenting with and in no way game breaking. The Pokémon do not have extra Combat Power, nor do they actually block a path or anything of that nature.
It remains to be seen if Niantic Labs will squash the bug when,or if, the rumoured December update arrives. For now, players can have some extra fun taking screenshots of their massive Buddy.
