Werner Coetzee notified us via Twitter that Battlefield 1 received a R400 price hike on Origin. We checked the currently listed prices against the listings as shown on August 25 in the article "About Battlefield 1’s Premium Pass content and price."

According to one of our readers,

As you can see, the standard edition received a massive R400 increase, and the Ultimate Edition R550. The Early Enlister Deluxe Edition received a R160 increase, and the Ultimate Edition R300. The digital standard edition is now R110 more than the boxed version as listed by Raru.

We've reached out to EA South Africa and will update the article if we receive a response. We also checked the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 prices - it remains the same as showed on August 25.

Battlefield 1 releases on October 21 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. EA Access and Origin Access will give subscribers a head start with the Play First Trial opening on October 13.

Prices aside, we played the beta and even though we struggled through the desert with a 200+ ping handicap - we still enjoyed the game, but recommend you wait until local servers are confirmed before you purchase the game.
