Rumour: Red Dead Redemption Remaster to release in 2017

What do we want? Red Dead Redemption! When do we want it? Now of course! Every time I see a Red Dead Redemption (RDR) rumour make its rounds I can’t help but get hyped. It is the Rockstar Games title that PC gamers never had the chance to experience.

The latest rumour originates from Korean games website GameFocus (translated by NeoGAF member Delaney) and states that a RDR Remaster is in the works for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The Remaster is set to release in the “first half of 2017” according to VG24/7.

The above-mentioned translation further explains that: "The game would be getting a full Korean localization this time, as the original game was released with english subtitles and a physical copy of the script translated to korean. While they mention that their source confirmed that the PS4 and PC version would be released in Korea, they weren't sure about the Xbox 1 version even though it exists." - Source

If the rumour turns out to be false, there is always the chance of a RDR2 announcement.

RDR2 announcement is a possibility

If Sony does unveil the PlayStation NEO at the PlayStation Meeting tomorrow as rumours have suggested, I can think of no game better to show off the NEO than RDR2. Past leaks and rumours have suggested that RDR2 is in development, including a possible map leak and that a prequel could be in the works.

According to GameReactor, rumours suggest that: “Rockstar Games may be present at the PlayStation Meeting held in New York on September 7, and on this occasion the studio might even announce Red Dead Redemption 2, a title that was allegedly set to be announced at E3 but that never materialized.” - Source

As always, you should take the rumour with a large helping of salt. We will know soon enough since the PlayStation Meeting, where the RDR Remaster is rumored to be announced, will start tomorrow at 21:00pm South African time. Maybe both RDR2 and RDR Remastered will be announced, or the rumours could be false. If the rumours turn out to be true however, its full steam ahead for the hype-train.

Do you think the rumour is true and which platform would you play Red Dead Redemption Remaster on? Let us know in the comment section below.
