Your August SA Gaming Events Calendar

Overwatch SA.jpg

With July already in the rear-view mirror (ICYMI read this) and the Electronics & Gaming Expo (EGE) already thinking about 2017, there is still plenty to look forward to in the coming months in South Africa. We first have the small matter of August to get through, and these are the events you can look forward to in the eighth month of the year.

August sees a few ongoing events continue, including the Dota 2 Eclipse Cup, the continuation and completion of second qualifier for Call of Duty in the Predator MGMS, as well as the start of the CS: GO campaign. Evetch Champions League continues, as does the Telkom DGL as it drives towards rAge 2016. Don't forget to support the Southern Barbarians who is competing in the African qualifiers for the E-Frag CS: GO World Championship.

Earlier today, Blizzard announced the Overwatch World Cup - and South Africa is invited! Some of the selected players have already received their emails, with community voting taking place on August 11. You can read more about the selection process here. We'll cover this event in detail, so keep an eye on GameZone.
