While we have already highlighted Energy eSports and ViNCO Gaming, we decided to catch up with some of the other title contenders - it's time to meet the teams.

Insane Gaming

"Our team formed in 2012 during the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (COD:MW3) season, after we found out that competitive Call of Duty existed. Our team started as a group of friends all from the same school. We weren't very good but  we enjoyed playing online tournaments started to improve around near the end of our first competitive season.

Our gameplay really started to pick up in Call of DutyL Ghosts where the first proper LANs started, where we started to take it more seriously.

With regards to the Predator MGMS 2nd qualifier, our goal is to place top 2. we are confident and our biggest competition will be Fear & Vinco." - Kaelin 'Insane Tanker Govender, captain of Insane Gaming

Concept Gaming

"Concept was founded in 2012, near the end of Black Ops 2 season, on the Xbox platform. The team has since become a known name in the community.

With Concept Gaming the goal is to become even greater, reaching top placements in online and LAN events and as our motto goes, Strive For Excellence. The transition to PlayStation was unsteady at the start but, in the end, it turned out to be successful.

The goals for the MGMS qualifier is to show everyone that Concept is not just a team that they knew back in the day, but a team that they will recognize as a dominant team in the South African Call of Duty Community." - Taariq "Concept LeVeLzZ" Kafaar, leader of Concept Gaming

Sector 17 eSports

"Sector 17 eSports was founded in 2011 as an Xbox 360 gaming clan in Port Elizabeth, over the years the clan has grown into a multi-gaming organization (MGO) as it started to invite other platforms to its ranks.

Since the first competitive tournament hosted by Clan Connection back in Modern Warfare 3, Sector 17 made an impact on the competitive scene , outperforming some of the top clans in South Africa - ending third in the first ladder matches hosted by MWEB GameZone, leading the Xbox Do Gaming playoff in 2014 and recently taking second place in the 2016 Digital Gaming league pre-season cup.

Sector 17 Esports always had one goal in mind: Never give up and the rest will follow.

We have two teams competing in the Predator MGMS tournament. Both of which are new to the scene but show great potential and passion for competitive play. Our goal for this 2nd round of the MGMS qualifier is to go far as possible and perhaps finish  amongst the top 10." - Alex 'SectorFr33style' Willemse, Manager of Sector 17 Esports

RoyaL eSports

"We, as a team, started 11 months ago on PlayStation 4 and have slowly but steadily started doing better as we go.

We are now in the Digital Gaming League (DGL) premier division for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3. We are planning to branch out as an organization, finding great teams in Halo 5, CS:GO, Dota 2 and League of Legends.

In this qualifier, we obviously hope to make the top 2 and qualify for the Predator MGMS LAN. We are going to the EGE LAN next week and hopefully we will do well there."  - Lewis "RoyaL_Clarity" Mitchell

More on Predator

“We named our line of gaming products after a fierce hunter – the Predator. We design gear for fierce gamers – members of what we call the Predator tribe.

Every member of our tribe has the soul of a fierce hunter, a predator. We bear the mark of our deadly mission. Our ancestors painted their bodies with dirt and blood to strike fear into the hearts of their enemies and rally comrades to battle. We draw inspiration from these marks of power.

The mark of the predator tribe is a symbol of loyalty, power, and ferocity. Use it wisely. Embolden your tribe and demoralize the enemy. Conquer New Worlds!”

Predator 17

If you need to carry all that power with you, then the Predator 17 laptop is the solution. The 17” screen is capable of up to 4K resolution powered by an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980M with sound being delivered in immersive 4.2. The entire laptop is kept cool via optional (and included) additional cooling fans. In fact, the review unit we got our hands on went down a real treat with our reviewer.
