2016 is the year of Virtual Reality headsets. While the mobile market is beginning to gain momentum, it seems that the console and PC side is not yet making its first steps into the South African market. Below we highlight the mobile, PC and console headsets and their current availability, features and cost relative to the South African consumer. 

Google Cardboard VR

Thanks to the Oculus team up, the Gear VR boasts a deep catalog, creating a truly compelling experience. 

Key Specs and features: 560 x 1440 resolution; 96-degree field of view; 60 Hz refresh rate. Supports head-mounted touch controls as well as Bluetooth controllers.

I am sure most of you want to rather purchase the PlayStation VR, Oculus or The Vive. Unfortunately, only the PlayStation VR is confirmed to release in South Africa.
