EGE 2016 Cape Town: Ticket sales open and a peek at what's to come

EGE 2016.jpg

In Gauteng, money isn't everything - it's the only thing, while Capetonians dance to a different beat than that of the rat race. Cape Town people know how to celebrate life, relax and have a good time - while they're also doing business. I know it's a big generalization, but having lived in both Cape Town and Johannesburg for years I've seen it more often than not. Maybe Capetonians are under the influence of Table Mountain's stable, peaceful presence, or maybe it's the vibe from the Atlantic ocean, or maybe just their love for drinking wine and hanging out - because they know how to let their hair down and enjoy life in a way that I've not seen in Gauteng. Only me? (No, not saying Gautengers can't have a good jol.)

EGE invites you to enjoy that uniquely Capetonian vibe with them at the 2016 Electronics & Gaming Expo, hosted at Cape Town's prestigious International Conference Centre (CTICC). Tickets go on sale this Friday at Computicket, with a special running until the end of March. Allow me to mention that the CTICC might be South Africa's premier expo venue.

CTICC is located on Cape Town’s northern foreshore, beneath Table Mountain. Building taking up the big lower right corner section.

Here is a peak at what you can expect from EGE's second annual Electronics & Gaming Expo.

Introducing the EGE LAN

Firstly, this year there will be a 400 seater LAN section which wasn't at 2015's EGE. There will also, of course, be more vendors, events, cosplay and competitions - but most of it all uniquely Capetonian. Except for a few surprises ... which EGE cannot talk about just yet.

"Not only will EGE 2016 have everything fans loved from last year’s show including cosplay competitions; awesome merchandise on sale from South Africa’s top retailers; demonstrations and hands-on time with of some of the latest tech, but for the first time will be introducing the EGE LAN.

EGE LAN will host 400 gaming enthusiasts allowing gamers to play all weekend non-stop for 53 hours from Friday 29th July at 10h00 until Sunday 31st July at 15h00. The EGE LAN will be operated by local gaming organisation Orena in conjunction with Zombiegamer who will be running several competitions for those who want to get involved." EGE

Expect a lot more EGE news in the coming weeks, now go clear your calendar and remember to book a ticket tomorrow - especially if you're interested in attending the LAN.
