Xbox One owners must be smiling this week as they're getting another freebie treat. The first treat is the week long free EA Access opportunity to all Xbox Live Gold members; play 14 EA games for free. The offer ends this coming Sunday. The second freebie is an offer from CD Projekt Red:
"The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, prequel to the award winning The
Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, is now available on Xbox One via backward
compatibility and is free to download for a limited time.
"The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings spins a mature, thought-provoking
tale to produce one of the most complex and unique RPGs ever released on
consoles. In addition to its epic story, the game features a complex
combat system that uniquely combines dynamic action and tactical depth."
The press release stated that the offer is only available in selected countries; namely the U.S., Canada, United Kingdom, France and Germany. However, I checked with Xbox South Africa, and can confirm that South African Xbox One owners can also download the game for free. Some users have reported problem with downloading the game; here's what you can do:
"Users who may experience a message stating that the game is not yet available in the region should instead purchase the game via our online marketplace." Thanks for the help Xbox South Africa, make sure to follow them on Twitter and Facebook.
Just keep in mind, the free Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings offer ends on February 5.
