MWEB GameZone 2015 Online GOTY - Rocket League snatches win from BLOPS3

Talk about a close win! Rocket League received 32% of the votes for MWEB GameZone's 2015 Online GOTY, and Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 received 29% of the votes. Star Wars Battlefront wasn't far behind with 22% of the votes - if we had local servers, it might've even won.

Who would've ever thought that the ever popular Call of Duty would lose to soccer with cars? Or as the bearded wonder, Gareth Woods said in his review; "...playing Rocket League is like "driving around in Google cars and we forget to update the anti-virus." Even the developer, Psyonix, was surprised by Rocket League's popularity. I think we all agree that the reason Rocket league is so popular is because the game is so much damn fun. Then there's pimping your ride, and let's not forget that it's not just fun, it's also challenging.

On Christmas Eve Psyonix announced that Rocket League had close to nine million players - and that's just for PC and PlayStation 4. Come February Xbox One players will join the ranks with their exclusive Halo "HogSticker," and Gears' "Armadillo."

Well done to Psyonix for beating the biggest name in video gaming ;).

Our final GOTY Award will be the most important vote you cast. Stay tuned for more news later.
