MGMS LAN Finals - Come watch it live plus win some swag

MGMS-LAN_01.jpg

On the 3rd and 4th of October, eight teams will do battle across two titles in the MWEB GameZone Masters Series (MGMS) LAN Grand Finals at the MWEB offices in Parow, Cape Town. And you – as a non-competitor – are cordially invited to join the players, teams and admins to watch the spectacle happen live, right before your very eyes.

Over the weekend the top four Call of Duty teams (Xbox One) and top four Counter-Strike teams from the Masters Series qualifiers will battle for their share of R44,000 in cash up for grabs. Spectators will be able to watch all of the action from both tournaments live in the auditorium – or if you choose to stay at home, via the MWEB GameZone Twitch Channel.

Of course, if you’re at the venue, you can expect a little special treatment. There will be some food and beverages (including some beer sponsored SAB, so there will be no under 18s allowed at the event), good community interaction and swag, including a Proline XM-502 5” LTE Smartphone. So staying at home to watch doesn’t sound so grand now does it?

If you’re in Cape Town over the weekend of the MGMS LAN event, and would like to attend the spectacle, you will need to be on the list to get passed security. To do this, you simply have to comment below (please use a valid Disqus account so we can make contact with you if needed) with the following:

  • ‘LET ME IN!’
  • Your Full Name
  • Age
  • Preferred Day(s) of Attendance

Entry is free and spectators will be added to the list on a first come, first served basis. The number of entrants will also have a cap, so get in before you lose the opportunity to be at the event.

The Teams

Both the Call of Duty and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive qualifiers has been completed and the four teams for each have been decided. At the LAN you can catch Astra_Infinite, eN_F34R, Insane Gaming and Ventus Xero in action in the console Call of Duty event, while Bravado Gaming, Damage Control, Carbon eSports and Energy eSports will be the four teams battling it out in the Counter-Strike.
