Most people would agree that the world created by Rockstar Games in GTA V is a ton of fun, with no responsibilities or repercussions. Unfortunately, once we're done playing the game we find ourselves back into the world full of rules and regulations, well most of us anyways.
Recently a student from Baton Rouge, Louisiana found himself trying to replicate GTA in real life, when he stole a truck, kidnapped a woman and hit several parked cars. The lacrosse player, Zachary Burgess, told an officer that he was trying to "see what it was really like to play the video game Grand Thefit Auto".
Zachary Burgess has since been charged with nine counts of Hit-and-Run, Simple Kidnapping and theft of a Motor Vehicle, which would most likely translate to a 2 star wanted level in GTA V (so he obviously sucks at GTA). It was just unfortunate for him that losing the cops isn't as easy as it is in the game.
In what has to be one of the biggest acts of stupidity, Zachary didn't just commit some seriously unlawful acts. He decided to put all the blame into a game, which I believe just shows you how idiotic this individual is. It is only a miracle that no one was injured during his parade of pure recklessness. I just hope that he finds the lines between real life and video games less blurred after the ordeal, and spending some time in prison.
What do you think about Zachary Burgess and his attempt to replicate an everyday GTA event?
