5 Machinimae that don’t completely suck

by Stephanie Duchenne (Panda McBearface)  Posted Friday, March 22, 2013 10:50:07 AM

The thing that I hate the most about Youtube is that when you search for something with the keyword “funny” you are presented with about a million videos that don’t fulfil said criterion. Perhaps the events recorded in these videos were funny to their Original Posters, but to the rest of us they represent many, many minutes of our lives that we have frittered away and cannot obtain a refund for.

However, today is your lucky day because I am feeling particularly kind and so have spent a couple of hours sorting the wheat from the chaff in order to present you with 5 Machinima videos that aren’t absolutely awful, thus helping you to begin your Friday on the right foot i.e. moderately happy.

[P.S. If you don't know what machinima is, Wikipedia defines it thus:

Machinima is the use of real-time 3D computer graphics rendering engines to create a cinematic production. Most often, video games are used to generate the computer animation.]

1. I’m still seeing Breen

This one is an oldie but a goodie. Yay Half-Life! I loathe and despise Breaking Benjamin as a band because I think that they are just terrible; but this video represents one time that I am willing to disregard that fact.

2. What are NPC’s thinking?

You know that the above is a question you have always wondered about but have been too afraid to ask. Lucky for you, another guy wondered the same thing and made this; so now you know.

3. Master Chief vs Leonidas: Epic rap battles of history

This is plain down lyrical genius if you ask me. Also, a man in leather underpants (+4 agility).

4. A shiny Minecraft tale

A sad tale that examines the consequences of the futile pursuit of capital gain.

5. Super Mario Vice City

Mario, Luigi, hookers and gratuitous violence. These are a few of my favourite things.
