Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Revolution deploys on Xbox Live

If you see a smirk settling in as a permanent feature on someone’s face today, chances are good they own an Xbox 360 and are playing the newly released Call of Duty Black Ops 2 Revolution DLC map pack, as opposed to the rest of the gaming world that has to

wait.for.it.

According to the official press release, Black Ops 2 Revolution packs a heavy punch. You can smack in a zombie’s face, you can be a zombie, unlock a brand new weapon called, the Peacekeeper, and tons more.

Mark Lamia, Treyarch’s Studio Head said it best, ”Revolution is a wild ride”, let’s take a look.

Maps

Revolution delivers an unparalleled amount of variety and content for all types of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 players, featuring four all-new multiplayer maps set around the globe.

“Downhill” is a snowy alpine chateau perfect for hectic close-quarters combat. Set in the ski country of the French Alps, players fight their way down the slopes and through a ski lodge while avoiding the moving hazards of the mountain's gondola system.

“Mirage” is a sand-devastated luxury villa suited for all play styles. The battle plays of in a dilapidated luxury resort, ravaged by a catastrophic sandstorm, where a range of long distance and close-quarters combat will mix up the action for all play styles.

“Hydro” is a massive hydroelectric dam in Pakistan lined with long-range vantage points perfect for sniping. Opponents must dodge the floodwaters as they contend for dominance of this Pakistani hydroelectric dam facility, filled with treacherous spillways.

“Grind” is a skate park in Venice Beach, where players must adapt to the map’s unique ramps, bowls and curvatures as they try and take cover from enemy fire. Players are transported to the historic birthplace of skateboarding, where they will battle it out through the ramps and half-pipes of this massive, epic skate park in a multiplayer environment comprised of unique curved architecture, requiring players to adapt and learn new ways to take cover.

And then, zombies

“Turned,” flips this new fan-favourite mode around, allowing players to become the undead and play as a zombie, offering an entirely new style of bragging rights.

“Die Rise,” drops players inside a maze of crumbling skyscrapers amidst a ravaged Chinese city, where all-new Wonder Weaponry will play a crucial role as they make a valiant stand against the impending zombie hoard. Player will have to overcome a zombie infestation inside a series of collapsed skyscrapers towering over the remains of an obliterated Chinese city. In this new and original Zombies map, players will wield powerful, upgradable Wonder Weaponry as well as combine new buildable devices to fight a relentless army of the undead throughout Escher-esque sceneries over a deep and perilous chasm

Rounding out the wide breadth of new content in Revolution is the “Peacekeeper,” a one-time offering of a new multiplayer weapon. This powerful SMG, accompanied by its own set of weapon challenges for additional XP in Revolution.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II Revolution is out now, exclusively on Xbox LIVE for a suggested retail price of 1200 Microsoft Points. The Revolution DLC Map Pack is included in the Call of Duty: Black Ops II DLC Season Pass, where fans can purchase four epic DLC Map Packs for Call of Duty: Black Ops II, and also receive the Nuketown Zombies bonus map, and an exclusive in-game calling card as part of the discounted bundle offered at a suggested retail price of 4000 Microsoft Points, a discount of 800 Microsoft Points off the individual purchase of all four DLC Map Packs.
