If you were expecting to get your sneak-'em-up on with Sam Fisher before the end May, I got bad news. Ubisoft have confirmed that Splinter Cell: Blacklist will now only be releasing on the 20th August instead of the previous date of Spring 2013. That's Spring in the Northern Hemisphere.

No reason was given for the delayed release, but it's safe to assume that it's relatively minor things like bug-squashing and some quality control issues.

The meager silver-lining is that they've announced the date change via the games latest trailer, which reveals absolutely nothing new about the game whatsoever except that we can't actually play the game yet. It's nice, I guess, if all we wanted to do was watch Sam Fisher be awesome. Instead of, you know, actually playing as Sam Fisher, which is infinitely more awesome.
