Every once in a while Play Station players are surprised by the horrible of experience of having to put down their controllers, as the Play Station maintenance crew rushes in to fix unknown errors. Well we are here to try and ease that surprise, by keeping you posted on when the maintenance will be disturbing your ever so joyful gaming experience.
The Play Station Network (PSN) maintenance is scheduled for the late night hours of 16th of January and the Early mornings of the 17th of January. So this Thursday expect to playing less. As the entire period will last up to 12 hours. Here is a direct quote from Sony's Matthew Harper:
“The PlayStation Store and Account Management will not be available during the maintenance period,” Sony’s Matthew Harper notes, “but you will be able to access online play and apps provided that you have signed into the PlayStation Network at some point between now and the time of the maintenance. So please be sure to sign in now if you wish to access the Network during Thursday’s maintenance window.”
*Please note Thursday that is indicated in the quote, changes to Wednesday to us in South Africa.
The scheduled period is from 8am to 8pm Pacific time. For South Africans this means the network will be down from 10pm on the 16th of January to 10am on the 17th of January. So those early bird gamers, you might be out of luck if you want to jump online but if your just playing Single player you should be fine. Here's to hoping the maintance goes as smooth as predicted.
