Konami has announced that Metal Gear fans can get a shot of gaming methadone when the demo for Metal Gear Rising: Revengence releases on the 22nd January.

This probably means that us mense with the misfortune of being born on the right-hand side of the Atlantic will only see it the following day, but whatever.

Until then though, you can sate your Metal Gear appetite with this new 7-minute trailer that give a good indication of what the game will actually be like to play. Basically, the video is lead character Raiden getting all medieval on some bad guys asses, which is ironic since he's a killer cyborg ninja with anger management issues. So far the game play looks appropriately chaotic, but I have to confess that it doesn't look like it fits into the Metal Gear Universe to me.
