The upcoming Bioshock Infinite from Irrational Games is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated games of 2013 and so far, all indications are that the game is going to meet its hype train without any hassles.

But the game does have one, albeit, minor complaint that no one could shush about at the beginning of the month. The all powerful internet's opinion is that the games boxart is so super generic and lacking in imagination, it's like it was pulled from an iStock gallery. Fortunately Irrational put out a selection of alternatives which fans could vote on to feature as a reversible cover. The polls are now closed and the winning cover has been selected (it's the one on the right).

I'm not keen on it myself, but it is the best of the bunch that was offered up and miles better than the default one we'll be seeing on store shelves. According to the games producer, Ken Levine, the boring as beige paint cover is a deliberate attempt to capture a broader audience (read Call of Duty fans), who may not necessarily be aware of the game, and get them to make an impulse purchase. “I wanted the uninformed, the person who doesn’t read IGN… to pick up the box and say, okay, this looks kind of cool," explained Levine in an interview on GameLife earlier in the month.

Bioshock Infinite is due for release in March 2013.
