The guys over at Blizzard have been busy working getting Diablo 3 running on consoles, and apparently have some working prototypes, but is only that for now – prototypes.

"We're still kind of exploring it," said Blizzard executive Rob Pardo, who was recently promoted from executive vice president of game design to chief creative officer. "We've got builds up and running on it. We're hoping to get it far enough along where we can make it an official project, but we're not quite ready to release stuff about it, but it's looking pretty cool."

While the news from the guys over at Polygon is that Diablo 3 is running on consoles, they don’t specify which platforms it is running on.

It’d be interesting to be able to get actual footage to see how far this “unofficial” project is along, not to mention how the user interface is being handled with something like a controller, but it could mean fun times ahead for console players.

Thanks to Massively for the alert and Polygon for the source!
