Someone asked me the other day what games I was looking forward to playing in 2013 and it got me thinking. Here's my "preliminary list" of what my Top PC games are that I am looking forward to getting stuck into next year:

The Elder Scrolls Online

You cannot ignore the success of Skyrim, so I'd be crazy to overlook this title which is Bethesda's upcoming title that takes this world into the realm of MMO's. I really think that this is going to be one of the pick's of 2013.Will this title be the WOW killer? Probably not and I'm pretty bored of asking that question. Horses for courses I say.

Starcraft II: Heart of the Swarm

Ok, so its an expansion and not a "full game", but its STARCRAFT dammit! I'm looking forward to playing through the campaign to see how the storyline progresses and what new units have been added - ZERG RUSH ENHANCED! More importantly, however, is seeing how this new expansion is adopted in the multiplayer arena. What new tactics will come to the fore, I wonder? I just hope that the game is not too much "more of the same".

The Cave

Ok, so this is probably not the most popular of choices...but this game is from the brainchild of Day of the Tentacle and Maniac Mansion. The older gaming crowd will be making small whooping sounds about now. The SCUMM shall rise again!

Crysis 3

Will it break my video card again? Probably. For this one, I'm not really interested in the multiplayer, but the single player which promises wide open spaces to wander about and frag things. Its going to be great to see how New York has been remodeled, overrun with flora and fauna.

SimCity

Normally, I am not a fan of these kind of games, but the multiplayer component of SimCity sounds really appealing, especially the economics of things. With no ceiling or floor on the economy, its going to be interesting to see how things develop - a micro model of a "free market" economy.

Make no mistake, this was my initial list and I reserve the right to change my mind! After all, there might be a Battlefield 4, a new Call of Duty, Arma 3 might blow my socks off and the new Metro might inspire! A year of promises lies ahead...what fun. As a closing though, Grand Theft Auto 5 would be be on the list if it was coming on PC. Damn you, Rockstar!!!!
