While rare, video crossovers aren't unheard of, especially where Street Fighter is concerned. Ryu and the gang have been mixing fisticuffs with the best that gaming has to offer for years now, most recently in Street Fighter X Tekken, which blended the two iconic fighting franchises into a pretty badass 2D fighter. Now there's a new crossover featuring the best of Street Fighter, which surprisingly isn't a one-on-one fighting game.

Street Fighter X Mega Man takes its game play approach from the classic platformer, designing its levels and bosses around the classic fighting game. In other words, Street Fighter X Mega Man is an 8-bit style platformer, featuring Mega Man doing battle against the best fighters from the Street Fighter universe. Admit it, you never saw this game coming.

Even more surprising is that the game is actually a fan mod, that is being produced with the full support of Capcom. I know, right? How often does that happen. Capcom fan and Singapore native, Seow Zong Hui, is the man that came up with this genius concept which, in a third surprise, will be available for free on PC from the 17th December.
