It is the end of the world..... for some but just a close to another great year of gaming for most of us. The Xboxlive (mostly international) market place has been saturated with great games for our pickings in 2012 and if you have some Microsoft points left in your virtual pocket then I might be able to help out. I have compiled my Top 5 Xboxlive games for the year that will assist you in choosing where to drop your coin.
5) Fez (800 MS Points)
Fez is one of, if not, the best puzzle games to hit the Xboxlive marketplace this year. You play the role of Gomez a two dimensional character that lives in a two dimensional (2d) world. Gomez stumbles upon a odd artifact that allows him to perceive the world in a third dimension (3d). Just as he is about to explore his new ability the artifact explodes as cause the world to be stuck in an in-between phase of a 3d environment with 2d restrictions. Your goal throughout the game is to collect the fragments of the artifact in an attempt to reassemble the artifact to its previous form.
4) Trials Evolution (1200 MS Points)
Trails Evolution is the sequel to the critically acclaimed Trials HD. Sticking with the previous model your goal is still to complete all missions which requires a high amount of attention to your throttle and balance parameters of your character. Trials offers a unique addiction that borders on the frenetic. One of the best additions to Trials Evolution is the track editor that allows you to create your own levels and share them with your friends.
3) Mark of the Ninja (1200ms points)
Mark of the Ninja is a side-scrolling stealth action video game that is as unique as its description. Observe your enemies from afar, manipulate them with your tools, and execute your plan with precision. But be careful -- you're as fragile as you are powerful. Mark of the Ninja is one of the most graphically powerful side-scrollers to date. Being a Ninja in a 2d has never been so cool.
2) Walking Dead: The game (400 MS Pointsx5)
The Walking Dead game is a click-and-point adventure role playing video game based off of the Walking Dead series. You play the role of Lee Everett whom is in a zombie apocalypse. It is up to you to make the decisions of how to survive in the world by interacting with other characters and items. Your decisions play a huge role in the way that your story unfolds. What the Walking Dead game offers is a story that tugs on your heart strings and allows you to be surrounded by the world of Lee Everett. It is a gripping series that makes it one of the must have titles for the year.
1) Minecraft (1600 MS Points)
Minecraft's success on Xbox 360 has been stellar. Minecraft allows for users to be placed into a huge generated world and from there the possibilities are limitless. Users can create, destroy , design , build and fight there way to create a world that is completely their own. What Minecraft offers is gaming freedom and freedom is worth dying..... *cough* I mean.... paying for.
Do you have a different top 5 for 2012, or did I leave something out? Let us know!
