The Android platform is supposedly rife with piracy, so much so that Dead Triggers’ developer, Madfinger Games, has decided to release its game for free on Android. Apparently this isn’t new news, as this has been happening to several developers , of which MadFinger Games is but the latest to switch to this tactic.
The reason developer cites for this move is the amount of piracy on Android platform. On its Facebook page, Madfinger Games said, "The main reason: piracy rate on Android devices, that was unbelievably high."
"…the piracy rate is soooo giant, that we finally decided to provide DEAD TRIGGER for free", the company added.
The company has stressed on the point that there are no in-app purchase requirements and the game is completely free-to-play unlike other games.
Although the information below cannot be verified independently, the piracy rate for this game is high – as high as 90%. Fortunately good news is on the horizon for app developers with the upcoming Jelly Bean edition of Android, in which encrypted apps will be supported – specific apps will be keyed to specific devices before transmission to a particular device.
