I must ask this question. Its a burning need of mine to determine the relevance of the hours I spend in front of my PC playing online FPS. One would swear I didnt have a normal life, but from 7pm to 11pm most nights, Im stuck in my little corner of the universe (a.k.a. My Lounge), feverishly playing Battlefield 3. I was one of the many thousand gamers that went out to buy Modern Warfare 3 on release.
As it stands now, had I known then what I know now, I could have either saved myself the money, or kept it in its wrapping and used it as a coaster for my glass of Coke Zero. As I have said a thousand times, what I say here, is formed of my own opinion. I do not speak on behalf of anyone, nor do I mean to judge, criticise or take aim at other gamers that do the complete opposite of what I do.
My question is simple really. What FPS Multiplayer game do you enjoy the most? It doesnt need to be a "New" game, but one that stands out for you. You dont need to answer the question, but where I am going here with this post, is to see whether or not, like me, you find the constant inclinations to play the game you do. Is it something you think about doing when you arent playing? Do you still feel the desire to play it even after months and months of playing? Do you still want to play it even though you have unlocked every weapon/perk/bonus etc?
Games for me in general have always been an escapism, and continue to be so. As a Leader of my Clan, the very essence of what we do, is to be a part of something "Bigger". I havent even met the "Real" people of my Clan, but it doesnt matter!! I have a favourite game, for now. One which I play each night (most nights actually), and one which I enjoy because of the various different things it has to offer. I have been playing MP since early 2000, and I have grown up with a generation of gamers, like the newer generation of players will come to realise as the years pass for them.
I am a Battlefield 3 fan. What are you?
