A South African Xbox 360 clan with a Spanish clan name.  Meet Adios la Vida.

“Goodbye the life”?  How’d the clan name come about?

When the clan started we wanted to pick a name that was original and unique – something that was different from the rest. We debated about a couple of names for a couple of weeks and one night when playing around on Google Translate, Toothpick ZA typed in ‘goodbye the life’ and translated it into Spanish to Adios la Vida. We all thought it sounded cool and the name just stuck there and then.

When did the clan form?

We formed around May 2011 after the first CC Clan Connection - Undead Ed] tourney of MW3.

How many members were there at the start and what was the game of choice?

We started off with 5 members that broke away from Chaos Crew. The clan was formed to play competitive COD and our game of choice was MW3.

How many members are you currently?  Keen to give out their names, credit card details and ID numbers?
Alright, only Gamertags will do.

Due to a lot of roster changes and other difficulties we are 4 members in total at the moment : the WEIRD abc (team captain),  XoTic HAzzardZ, Toothpick ZA and Rogue Z4.

The clan’s console of choice is the Xbox 360?  Is there a reason for that or are there plans to expand to the PlayStation 3?

We only play and compete on the Xbox 360. We really enjoy the Xbox Community and rather stay in a territory we are familiar with. We have no plans to cross over to Ps3.

What is the clan’s organisational structure?

The clan doesn’t have any specific leader. We find that we are all responsible individuals that are able to pull our own weight. We each bring our own ideas to strategies, callouts and general clan stuff, and we make all decisions as a team. However we have a team captain, someone who keeps it together, tells us what we are doing wrong and motivates us during clan matches.

How often do you try to play together as a clan?

Every week we try and play at least one clan match and have one ‘strat session’. Other than the competitive side, we frequently party up and play pubs together, trolling and generally having a good laugh.

Have you participated in any tournaments yet?  Won any?  Planning to (… win and participate in a tournament that is)?

We have participated into two tournaments this year; the Aztec community tournament and the Clan Connection Final stand tournament – where the pressure got us both times. Even through our losses we have grown as a clan and have learnt from our mistakes. Expect BIG things in Black Ops 2.

Would you consider yourselves as a clan: serious, competitive or one in it for laughs?

We consider ourselves to be a serious competitive clan. We all hate losing and try our best in all competitive games to win. Even though we have a serious side, we often practice in the art of trolling in public lobbies. At the end of the day it’s a hobby for us all and we never lose the fun aspect of our gaming.

What is the clan’s main current game?  Any other games that the clan plays as a change of pace?

We are currently focusing on Black Ops 2, but every member has different games that they like to play to take a break from COD. If not playing COD you will see us playing Halo, Battlefield and Minecraft.

Is attending LANs important to the clan and its members – especially considering the lack of LANs in the console scene?

We try and enter as many LANs as possible. We have entered into a few 2v2’s and FFA’s, but yet to compete and find a 4v4 LAN on Xbox in SA.

Are you guys actively recruiting for new players?  If so, how should a potential member contact you and how do you decide on who is right to join you?

No, we plan to stick to the current roster. We are comfortable with the way things are going and we plan to stay together for the rest of the year.

What are you hoping to achieve in the future as a clan?

We are definitely hoping to win a tournament or two and to be considered as one of the top competitive clans in SA.

Which opposing clan(s) do you most respect?

We respect all clans in the community. However we have a lot of respect for Hi5 and Team XtaZ, as they have both been around for a long time and have continually shown their dominance in the Xbox competitive scene.

In regards to professional – or competitive gaming – what do you as a clan think needs to be done to raise the profile of South African gaming?

We need to host more competitive tournaments, whether it be online or LAN. More emphasis needs to be placed on LANs as these events show true form and talent, unlike online tournaments where ‘lag’ and ‘tanking’ are quite a problem.

Right, let’s have a little fun…

If you weren’t a gaming clan you’d be…

Planting grass at the bottom of the ocean.

Weapon of choice for lobotomising or simply killing a… er… zombie?

Rogue Z4 with an MP7 – this guy is dead accurate.

If you guys had a music soundtrack for going to war, what would it be?

PSY – Gangnam style

Thanks for your time – is there anything you would like to add before ensuring others wish their lives goodbye – virtually of course?

Thank you for the opportunity in allowing us to share a bit of our clan with all the other Zombies out there!
