A couple of months ago I did a Retro Friday that looked into the history of Nintendo, leading up to the release of their smash-hit console, the Nintendo Entertainment System. The company had a pretty interesting ride leading up to their video game success story, starting out as a hand-painted playing card manufacturer and later experimenting in the taxi, food and even hotel industry before settling into toys, which eventually lead them into video games.

I didn't delve into what the company did after that, acceppting that most of you probably have a good idea of what Nintendo was up to after the NES, but if you need a bit of a primer check out this video.

Anthony Veloso and Quentin Dron, a pair of motion designers from Paris created the video that condenses the company's console manufacturing prowess right up until the present day with the release of the Wii U. It's basically the history of Nintendo in two minutes done to a smashing baseline and some dubstep.
