6 Free PlayStation Vita games.. meh.

by Zaid Kriel (Zaid)  Posted Thursday, January 17, 2013 10:39:00 AM

UPDATE: Apologies folks, I done goofed. It's just come to my attention that this offer is not available within South Africa. I don't consider the lack of availability here a great loss.

According to the PlayStation Blog, PlayStation Mobile - a PlayStation division that basically makes games that work on both the VIta and approved Android devices - will be giving away a free game every week for the next six weeks. First out of the gate is Samurai Beatdown.

Ordinarily, I would consider this brilliant news, after all, who doesn't like free stuff. But the trailer below is showing me a game that. lingers on the wrong side of the meh scale, which seems to be the bread and butter of Vita. Hey, it may be good, but they're not doing a good job of selling it to me.

If you're inclined to give it a go, PlayStation Mobile is available on Vita, Sony smartphones and tablets, and PlayStation Certified HTC Android devices. Go grab the PlayStation Mobile app from Google Play, or access the PlayStation Store form your Vita, to snaffle your free game.
