I’m not going to list these in any particular order, because really, all of them look like they are going to be pretty great and the Internet has confirmed this supposition on my part. I’ll even throw in a trailer or two so you don’t have to read the words on this page because things are often far more fun when you don’t have to do srs stuff like that. Here’s another “Top 5” list to add to my endless succession of “Top 5” lists (at the end of the year I’m going to release Panda’s List of Top 5 Top 5 Lists because the nonsensical qualities of that title makes lulz). Enough digressions, here are 5 shooters that everyone, everywhere is excited about.

 1. Crysis 3

Release Date:

19 February.

Reasons to be excited:

Discover the ultimate fate of protagonist Prophet, play a new multi-player mode called Hunter and high-quality graphics that are trippy as fudge. Check out this toad powered by the Cry3 engine:

2. Bioshock: Infinite

Release Date:

26 March.

Reasons to be excited:

Making things go boom in a giant city in the sky and an interesting storyline. Here’s an interview with Irrational Games’ Ken Levine about the gameplay (it’s short don’t worry) and a preview of some of the cool stuffs you can expect to see:

3. Splinter Cell: Black List (Ok, it's not entirely a shooter but just deal with it)

Release Date:

TBA officially.

Reasons to be excited:

I’ll be the first to admit that I used to hate this series of games so much, but as it turns out I got better at being stealthy now that I’m a grownup so I mostly like them. As a grownup I also got a hard-on for shiny spy gadgets that do cool things and this instalment of the franchise doesn’t disappoint in that area:

P.S. Even though I enjoy the games I will always hate Tom Clancy because I think he is a massive failperson, but that’s this whole other thing.

4. Gears of War: Judgement

Release Date:

March 19.

Reasons to be excited:

Killing all the Locust in the most explodey way possible. Also, the storyline and the challenges the game presents in terms of difficulty make for a shooter that will be just so great. Oh, and the soundtrack includes A Perfect Circle, which I think shows exemplary and exquisite taste on the part of the developers.

5. The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct

Release Date:

TBA Officially.

Reasons to be excited:

Post-modern questing, zombies, shotguns. That is all.

I’m probably not going to get to play any of these because I am poor, but I really think someone should so I can experience all the things vicariously. Thank you in advance.
