One of my most anticipated bits of technology coming out this year isn’t the latest Wii or the unannounced Xbox Next. It’s Project Fiona, Razer’s new PC gaming tablet that is set to potentially shake up the gaming industry from the ground up. Although it’s an amazing device in and of itself, it could be improved with a selection of useful peripherals. Here’s our list of peripherals we’d love to see:
Steering wheel
Imagine inserting the tablet into a steering wheel? Project Fiona comes with a accelerometer so steering is totally doable. With it’s handlebars already intact, the peripheral doesn’t need much but would be an amazing piece of hardware.
Console mode stand
Holding an iPad for an elongated period of time can get rather tiring. Project Fiona will undoubtedly be a little heavier, even with the handle bar controllers on the sides. A decent desktop stand that can be converted into a lap stand to ease the load would be rather handy for sitting on the couch or jamming in bed. I play games in 3 - 4 hour sittings frequently, but don’t intend on breaking my hands and arms doing it.
WiFi to TV
WiFi signal to the TV could change the rules of the game, even if that meant the peripheral was a WiFi receiver for your TV. This device could single handily undercut the console market and provide that much needed PC/console gaming crossover that everyone is longing for. And not only WiFi to your TV, imagine WiFi to a wireless mouse and keyboard? The easy pack-up-and-go LAN kit just got a lot easier and wire-free.
